I was pleasantly surprised when we received this car. It is much higher quality than the images might lead someone to believe. It doesn't just look like a replicate of an old-fashioned toy, it plays like one too. It's got good weight to it, the wheels make this pleasingly heavy wooden sound when traveling across the wood floors and the car travels smoothly and easily, just as you'd expect. The little passengers bob around in their 'seats' in a really sweet way too. When I think of a toy, this is what I think - this is the real deal. The paint is expertly applied, and looks like it would indeed last a lifetime.
Our car is visually different than the one picture. The face on the car is absent, and the men are yellow and have adorable, simple faces.
My only concern would be that the people look like they could be too small to give to a 18-month old. I'd bump the age limit up to 3. Still, a really, really fantastic toy. BTW, this is just the right size to fit into a standard stocking. :)
